Should I apply for a job with AutoZone if I don’t know the first thing about auto-parts?

There’s a store two blocks away from my house that’s hiring right now which would be awesome for me because I don’t have a car. I have retail experience in fashion and footwear but I’ve never worked in any job having anything to do with car care. I’m a quick learner and I know I would do well if they trained me. Does anyone have any insider info on this company or business?

As long as you have some type of sense about cars then you will be alright because they will show you everything that you will need to know

Yes apply.. especially if you don't know anything about the auto-part industry. As long as you have good customer service experience then your all set.

As long as your a good people person and friendly then go for the job. The most valued retail employee needs to have good communication and inter-personal skills.

As long as your comfortable using a computer your good. You can search for part by make, model, and year and the system tells you where to find the part in the stores inventory. If you have good customer service skills then I'm sure management will get you trained.

Nancy, I totally encourage you to do it! I've heard that they have really great training programs, so you'd probably pick up tons of valuable information. Plus, if it's a few blocks from your house, it sounds like a really good lifestyle fit. Go for it!
