I Can't Believe This!!

After a seven months of working at a job per diem, I finally got changed to full time with benefits! I am extremely grateful! I got laid off about two years, in that time I jumped from a job to a temp agency. My kids just started college and I am widow. At 59 years old, I applied at a assisted living home and had no hopes of receiving a call back. Then, I got hired, but unfortunately it was per diem and a 45 minute drive from my home. My family and friends thought I was crazy and outside my mind because sometimes I would only work two days a week, but I was determined. One of nurses, noticed that I was not full time and became my advocate. She asked the head of the department to hire me full time ASAP! What seemed like a waste of my time to some was actually a benefit in the end.

That is truly amazing and a wonderful story with a happy ending. God bless you and your determination. You were fortunate that you had someone to advocate on your behalf, being at the right place at the right time.

Congratulations! It's so cheering to hear a story where things worked out well. And you must have been doing an excellent job for that nurse to notice and care. How wonderful that she was willing to put in the effort to advocate for you. Best wishes to you and to her! It sounds like you deserve it.
