Tired of not being paid what I'm worth

Last year at my job something unfortunate and unexpected happened. One of my co workers died. I had been doing part of his job since he was no longer able. A few months after he died, I was told I would be given his postion. I was shown one part of it and given a raise. here it is one year later and I dont feel I am being paid as much as my predessessor nor have i been shown anything else. This position is part time as well. I have been looking for another job, full time this time. I like my boss, hes very understanding. So I have been dragging my feet about leaving. I have training as a patient care tech but no experience, so I wont be hired. I am looking into another field entirely but Im not sure what to look for

Look in the direction of something that interests you and makes you feel happy. Secondly, do not let the fact that your boss is a nice person deter you from searching for an opportunity better suiting to your lifestyle and or financial well being. In fact, use that fact to benefit your position. Bring your job search to him/her and ask for a letter of recommendation, or write your own including all you bring to the table. You could use it as a segways to a conversation about your current pay/schedule status. If he/ she is really a nice person, that wouldn't be upset at you for valuing yourself and looking for something better. Good luck! : )

Companies are like lemons. You have to slice them and squeeze them else they do nothing. Dragging your feet because you like your supervisor will get you nothing. Get a better job and leave.

Have you spoken to him about how you feel Leah Ashton ? I think perhaps come at it with the idea that you want to help the company grow and continue to succeed but you would 1- like more responsibility and 2- move and change your role a little bit.

Let us know how it goes!!
