Hotshots are low paying right now. I switched to moving cars and killing it. Have to have a class A CDL, follow all the rules as the tractor trailers. It's a lot of work to get it started but well worth it. Good luck. Stay safe

In less you have 2 years experience it will not do you no good to get a hot shot You must 1st establish 2 years at least of experience driving before a company will touch you

I say cdl you will always have work. I can quit a job in the morning and have a new one the same day in the afternoon

You will never be hungry if you get your cdl but the key is to keep your cdl clean

Hots need to have a cdl they have to do everything that the big trucks do because the truck is 14000 an trailer is another 10000. 24000 weight than load you are close to 40k so u still need a cdl

Depends on the size of your trailer but you can be more marketable with a cdl. If you register 2k pounds or less you can get by with a Class B but then again that is limiting your load options and some dispatching companies will work with you but are not wanting to put two or more partials on the trailer because it means more work for them regardless of whether it will end up making money. You can do like I did to get your Class A CDL you can get a one ton truck and a gooseneck trailer with a 10 ton or higher gvwr and teach yourself so to speak with a Class Learners permit. Saves money in the long run and doesn't take as much time before you can go to work. Hotshot work takes less money to operate than tractor trailer.

Depends on what ur driving if ur driving a basic truck with just a long trailer u need CDL. If ur driving one ton and trailer might need both but its best to speak with ur local law enforcement or highway patrol to find out what their laws are bcuz they very by county and state

Hot shot blows because it's inconsistent work and it could call at any time
