What should I do?? Help!

Ok so I work for an engineering company here in Houston, Texas. I am the Office manager support. I've been here 9 years but it's so slow and the company is restructuring, meaning we've merged with another company and my task and being limited to less and less. It's making me think of getting a new job. Well I have been looking, for a year now and NOTHING comes up. I've been to interviews but nothing good, actually paying me a lot less, so I stay here at my job, knowing that if I want another job I need to find one before I quit. Time is going by and now I am starting to think I need to go back to college to finish and get at least an Associates degree. But when I spoke with an Advisor at the college they said since getting the associates will be more time and more Math (that is a challenge for me) I should maybe just get a certificate for Payroll Assistant instead of the degree. That will only be about a year. And I'm pulling my hair out wondering if I should get just a certificate for Payroll Assistant OR go ahead and get my Associates Degree probably 3 more years knowing me and math...lol PLEASE HELP!

I think that's really up to you. Education is something we have to really think about since it is an investment. Maybe start with just the certificate while you work on the associates. But if you think that won't be enjoyable for you, then do what will work best for you.
