Luciano,
Background checks are important and companies will look into an applicant's background. You wouldn't want to risk hiring just anyone without knowing who they are, so this is expected of companies, too.
If you have nothing to hide then you have zero to worry about but if you have a record, this can potentially hinder you from employment with Uber or Lyft rideshare.
