Job applicant

I had an interview regarding this position a week and one day ago with Leroy Huckleberry and I'm still waiting to hear of the final result or decision of this interview.

Brian, good for you on at least getting your foot in the door with an interview. Have you sent the interviewer an email thanking him/her for taking time to meet with you? Its pretty much common practice nowadays for the interviewee to reach out to the interviewer 2-3 days after the fact to say thank you. This reaching out also gives you one final opportunity to reinforce your strong points with the interviewer and emphasize how much you really want to work for the company in question (even though you might not). Try dropping your interviewer a line, it can't hurt. Given the state of the economy and the number of super-qualified people out there whom you're competing with, you need to do everything in your power to really stand out from the rest.

If you have his email address send him a thank you for the interview...often this will get the conversation rolling if you are on the short list for the position. If not you can either wait and see or call him to check on the status of your application which is totally appropriate. When you call reinterate how much you enjoyed meeting him and having the opportunity to interview and let him know how enthusiastic you are about the position and the possibility of working for such a great company. Good Luck:) ~I am a recruiter
