Anxiety over being fired...
I was fired from my previous job a little over a month and a half ago and even though I planned on leaving, I never thought I would be fired. I planned on leaving on good terms, but when my former boss found out that I was leaving, all hell broke loose. We went through a very nasty court case for wrongful termination (which I won by the way) and even though I have now found another job, I still have this crippling fear of being fired.
The fact that I had never been fired before is giving me some of the worse anxiety because I never want it to happen again. It's gotten to a point where I catch myself crying at work for making the tiniest of mistakes because I'm afraid the next words out of my bosses mouth will be "I'm going to have to let you go."
I've talked to my family about it and they've all told me that I'm making myself crazy over nothing at all. I understand that quitting and/or being fired from a job is a part of life, but I'm taking it especially hard. I've made an appointment to see my therapist on how to cope with the anxiety, but I wish I just didn't feel this way at all.

Seek a professional therapist! Pray. Try not to be medicated though because when certain employers find out it could result into possible termination. Plus, some medications have negative effects. Aroma therapy just might useful when it comes to anxiety. You can Google the smells ( flowers etc...)to see which smell will help with anxiety. Prayer helped me to be rid of panic attacks.

I hope you find help soon because that's no way to live Chelsea.
Getting fired absolutely sucks. I have only been fired one time and it was at the end of a year and a half long battle with a bully boss.
It messed me up for a while. It got to the point that when I got a new job and my new boss would ask a question, I would wonder if they were trying to set me up, or if they were asking because I did something wrong and they were going to use what I said to try and fire me.
I would try to answer questions in a manner where I was trying to anticipate how my boss would respond to my answer. It was completely unhealthy.
Over time though, I learned that being fired one time does not define me. And to be honest, some of the most powerful people today have been fired from a job and gone on to great success.
So, by all means, talk to a psychologist or other mental health professional, but know that getting fired doesn't make you a lesser person. It makes you a human being and may have even opened you up to become a better employee because of it.
