Question About References - Can I ask customers?
I'm currently in the process of interviewing for a position with a new company, while I'm still working for my current company. I do inside sales and account management, and I'm wondering if I can ask my customer contacts to be references for my new position. There are a few guys that I've handled their accounts for years and could be good references. Is the ethical/acceptable? Thanks!

Great question Mike - YES! YES! As an employer I'd love that info.
We think customer referrals are among the best. We make it easy for you to add this on your profile here on jobcase (which prints out to a resume we auto-generate for you with a couple taps on your phone). Just hit the 'get praise' button and an invite will be sent to people you know; they will be prompted whether they are coworker, boss, customer, or friend/family (character references are fine too!). Hope you find this of value - drop me a line direct if it doesnt work really easily for you.
Good luck!
Fred
Man I never thought of this. I have some excellent service experiences with customers I can reach out to and ask. My first thought for a reference is has always been either a boss or co-worker. I don't even use family and friends for references. Im going to make a list and see how many I customers I can get to help me out. Thanks
