termination :(
So i had to work saturday but i couldn't go t work because i was broke down in my truck and i had nobody else to give me a ride to work. i was also 2 hours from work but with rush hour would have been up to 4 hours. I ended up calling work 3 hours ahead of my shift and told the gm the issue. she said ok well then she texted me back and said i need to be there. She said it is just me and one other person closing and well i told her i'd try but i doubt i will be able to get there to work. Ended up she texted me said i have 3 write ups if i do not show and that i will be terminated. Terminated over a broke vehicle and not able to get to work? Wendy's i am sorry but that is the worst company to ever work for and the fact they got roachs, people smoking weed, and the fact the crew keeps breaking rules and the managers wont do anything about it is the issue.
Hey aaron greenway - sorry to hear about that. It sounds like it was out of her hands, and it was company policy to automatically let employees go after 3 write ups and a no-show.
A 2 hour commute sounds crazy, though! I was doing an hour and a half each way before, and that sucked. I can't imagine adding another hour on the road each day!
In this case, I think you may be better off trying to find a new job. I'm sure that you can get a good reference from a prior manager or supervisor there, since you worked there for so long.
Here's how to search for your next job using Jobcase:
1. Click on Jobs & Companies at the top of the page, or head over [here] (http://www.jobcase.com/jobs/search)
2. Enter a job into the search field where it says Job Title, Keywords, or Company.
3. Add in your location by filling in your City and State OR zip code. Then click the magnifying glass to search.
4. Once the list is up, click on “View Job" of any you are interested in and then apply.
Good luck with your job search!
