Hi Kenneth, I've known applicants to contact a potential employer to ask if the position had been filled or not. However, given the competitiveness of the job market right now, it very well might be that your potential employer may have already picked out the candidates they want to interview. Still, it can't hurt to call and ask, although I'm sure some people will say that doing so might appear unprofessional or desperate. I, on the other hand, think that calling would demonstrate keenness on your part, which is a highly desirable attribute in an employee.

I understand that y'all is an accepted way of speaking in Broken Bow and Idabel, but I sincerely hope it's not the way you worded your application. A polite follow up call may be to your advantage however remember to treat the call as if it's an interview. I do know that Tyson usually does a lot of hiring on a regular basis.
