Dreams versus Reality
To be able to work at home . . . oh, how idyllic it sounds! At least you’ll able to get up on the morning when you feel like it, instead of being forced out of bed by a nagging alarm clock. You’ll don your most comfortable robe, fix breakfast, and leisurely peruse the morning paper over a cup of coffee. You might even work in your pajamas for a while, just for the heck of it. You’ll stroll down the hall to your beautifully appointed home office or studio, turn on your state-of-the-art computer to check your email, and settle in for another satisfying day of doing what you love most and do best. Oh, how you pity those friends of yours who are stuck in their going-nowhere-nine-to-five jobs, still trying to find the right daycare center for their kids and struggling to keep their blood pressure under control as they commute to and from work each day. Is this how you imagined things when you started your business?
Hi Steven Ransom ! As someone who worked from home for over two years, I think I gave myself fewer breaks than I would a 9-5 job. I wanted to push myself, which wasn't ideal at times. I did love it, but I also love coming into an office setting. As with everything in life having a balance is key!
