Whats the problem!!!!!?????

I have worked in the same field for 15 years. I am constantly feeling out applications had plenty of interviews and I am in good standing with all my employers. Nobody is hiring for FT or PT with benefits. I am getting ready to take a course to enhance my skills as a CNA.hopefully that will work but I have been unemployed for the past eleven months because for eight years I worked out of state. Now I'm not getting hired in my home city.

Hi Karmella,

I thought I was the only one, but low and behold there are more!!!!! I feel exactly the same way. Have two careers and experienced, qualified, good personality, keep going for interview after interview? I feel like giving up, but I have a cry out to the Lord and pick myself up and continue. I think there is so much competition out there. Never before have I experienced this catastrophe!! I had two interviews, with employer getting background check and references. Only to not get the job. It's so frustrating, but TRUST IN THE LORD! CALL ON HIS NAME!! He will see us through this terrible period. God bless, wish you God's speed!

Site Art Director at Monterey Peninsula Unified School District

Karmella,

I totally get you. I been working a job for 10 years, and after having our daughter 3 years ago, my views have changed about my current position.

I been looking for a job for a while now, and I feel like my window is closing at 40 years old. My health took a dip as well over the summer, I be experienced a sharp pain in my lower back shooting into my left side of my hip and down to my knee. My doctor thinks it could be arthritis, nerve damage, or sphyatic (difficult to spell) pain.

I got support from my family, on searching for a new job. I am extremely creative, but no luck in museum, graphic design, or art director positions. So I decided to write a book and put my creative skills to good use. I am at the end of my 600 page novel. I'll need to spice up the humor, adventure, and punch line ending. I'm not getting anywhere, so there is no where but up from my stand point.

Think of it this way, we all need a better life at some point in our lives. Might not be a job, it could be finding love, winning a competition, frankly with each of us...who knows. Stay strong.

Better yet, I honestly feel you are doing great. I'm struggling to watch students as I have trouble walking even with crutches. Be blessed you can walk. I also have a few parents that metaphorically spit in my face day to day. I honestly feel sad for those parents, because they might go home to an abusive home life.

This book I'm writing gives me a chance to break free from my personal hell. A chance to give society a new story, adventure, and just maybe turn into a series in film where I can indulge in voice overs and consulting companies in the story itself. Money is the last thing, seriously. I'm an artist, so to find a job doing what I love would be amazing!!!!

Well good luck on your journey. We all are here for a short time to do something great. The question is, "What will you do to change your life while your here?"

-D

Karmelia-I'm sure you can remember when getting a job in health care was much easier than it is now. Worked in hospitals and the budgets tightened up and when Obamacare passed the medical field took hits. The employers didn't want to pay benefits the cost could not be covered. I understand your frustration, it sucks. On an unrelated note, Disney here in California has been paying overtime to veteran workers because applications are dwindling due to low pay so they are short staffed. High school kids aren't applying because of low pay and no benefits

This is crazy because no one hire any of us! Am a Veteran with more than 15 years on my field, worked under poor and combat conditions. And I am not qualified enough? I don't even know what to say!
