I recently just started where I'm currently working at. The person that hired me got fired for being a fraud and apparently as trying to fire me on my third day at my job . I didn't know her or knew anything about her but I don't know why she was trying to fire me because she didn't even train me. I clearly told her I had no experience as an office assistant but she didn't pass the message to the boss . So the lady that got fired said this one day I was wearing this one shirt and apparently she didn't like and mention if I wore it one more time then she will fire me never told me that but told a coworker, coworker saw me wear a shirt smilar the next day and she rush me to wear these shirts that you have to buy which btw I wasn't aware of anything and wasn't planning on buying it because clearly I had no money but I got it because I wasn't trying to get fired so I was going to purchase the shirt when I got paid. After that lady got fired and got caught being a fraud, the boss been blaming me for all the mistakes that been there before me. Not my fault she wasn't told that I never had experience, I just found out today. Everyday she is treating me like shit. One mistakes she yells at me treats me like if I'm stupid, called me a thieft. Laughs with her this coworker who did not show up nor call on her shift. Tells me I need to stay seated and when I stay seated tells me I do nothing but hasn't given me my job duties. Than when I find things to do tells me that I'm wandering around and I'm not allowed to leave the front desk alone. Has only repeated something once, all the other task I learned fast has never repeated it. All her other coworker has done mistakes and wasn't treated the same way as me. very only been there for a week and some change. Am I right on feeling discriminated?
I am sorry you are going through all of that. She is definitely making the workplace a hostile environment through yelling at you and calling you names such as thief. When you say you feel discriminated against do you mean with regards to ethnicity, or something else? You stated you were not given a list of job duties, so you were given no job description at all? As an office assistant you would generally answer phones, file, greet and direct visitors,and any other tasks given to you by office manager to be completed. What is the position within the company/office of the person who you feel is treating you poorly? What about the one who hired you and was subsequently fired? That is definitely a tough spot to be in because you do not want to be in an environment that is hostile yet, the job market is quite volatile at the moment. When you applied for and were trained for the job what were you told and shown to be the responsibilities of the position?
That a mess I feel ya some folks on these job have favoritism and the ones that will work they Mistreat them but them lazy no good they praise them it's not fair
