What do employers hate seeing on a resume?
I read somewhere that employers spend about 6 seconds on average reviewing a resume. With such a short window I want to make sure I’m not listing any useless information that will immediately cast me out of the lot.

Louise, Typo's, Punctuation, Gaps in employment. Less is more, so you need to grab their attention in a span that a commercial does for it's audience. Research the company and find your strengths and highlight those in your cover letter. Why you feel you should be the best fit for this job in beginning paragraph.Try to grab their attention so they will read your cover letter. Then your main body should be short and sweet of your experience they are looking for. Your closing statement should leave an impression so they will not forget you.

- Typos - nuff said. 2. Exaggerating. Claiming you designed and implemented a groundbreaking new product when your role was a lab technician, or that you increased sales by xxxx% as a customer service rep. Be honest. Highlight YOUR strengths - you'll find a better fit and be happier in the long term.

Employers don't want to see what you have done as much as what you can bring to the table. Research who you are applying to and correlate this with your resume.

Make sure you have dates on your work history...

Typing errors are huge!! Make sure your spell check everything you send out for jobs.

Long drawn out resumes with typos, bad fonts, lies, and irrelevant information.

Spelling errors are a killer... always have someone check over your resume. Think of anyone you know that might be willing to edit your resume & then be brave (yes, brave!) enough to ask - it will be worth it!

TYPOS! Always make sure to check your spelling on your resume. If there is a spelling error on your resume it shows the employer a lack of attention to detail/carelessness.
Objective, hobbies, volunteer work (unless relevant to the position that you are applying for), improper email addresses, jobs performed not relevant to the position, spelling, and formatting errors.
