Medical Billing Assistant Coordinator at Greater Vision Counseling And Consulting

Discouraged, hopeless and helpless

On October 18th I will be unemployed for a full year. I've taken and passed w/ flying colors a Medical Billing & Coding course during my jobless time. But, no one seems to want to give me a chance to show my skills, proficiency and ability to learn fast. I am certified and confident in my abilities to be able to be a great asset to any company.

Maybe this has already been stated. You should look for entry-level to get your foot in the door and then eventually transfer to the department and position you want.

Keep plugging away Shielah, your breakthrough is coming. You are not alone and there's others (like me) going through the same situation but hold strong, network, network, network and if you haven't already get yourself some business cards to hand out. They only need to have your name, email address and number and maybe something attention getting. You can purchase 500 from Vistaprint for about $25.00. I hand them out like candy and when someone asks what I do, it's an opportunity to share my talents and experience.

Keep the faith and know we're all pulling for you and each other.

I feel your pain. I have been jobless since mid-August. High school math teacher with a master’s degree. No one wants me because of my age, experience and education. I’m a single mom and my savings is running low. It’s frustrating.

But I am a firm believe that good things come to those who wait.

I understand how you feel, but you're NOT helpless and should NEVER feel hopeless. God is clearing your path and preparing your job. Not just any job, but the job you need in ways you've probably never even considered. Finding the RIGHT job and the RIGHT employer is tricky business. It's hard, but it's worth the struggle.
