Respect Care
What really upets Me,when you apply for a postion, they want to know what year of High School you graduated, then they hang up on you ! I am the only one out of five that graduated High school,if it hadn't been for my future Husband,I probably would have quit,to go to work.

You need to file complaints with the federal government regarding this behavior. How else will these companies comply with the law.

Constance, a prospective employer can ask IF you graduated high school, not WHEN. Certain positions requiring the handling of restricted materials (alcohol for example) will require proof of attainment of legal age but unless you are applying for such a position the question is irrelevant. All a prospective employer is legally allowed to ask is if you are over the age of 18 and if you have a legal right to work in this country. I wish you well.

Constance, that is great that your husband supported you to finish completing your High School Diploma. That will help on your career path. That seems like a shady company if they need to know the year and then hang up on you. Maybe that is not the company you would want to work for. I hope that God will open the right door for you to continue on your career path. Keep your head up!!!

Good for you Constance! I think it's great your husband convinced you to stay - I'm sure it's been good in the long run. You actually don't need to tell them what year you graduated. All they need to know is if you have a diploma or not.
Expect prospective employers to choose the candidates that they feel have the best qualifications for the position offered. Most employers are looking for recent college graduates. Or if you have years of prior experience in addition to a high school diploma. Then maybe they will consider you as a potential candidate. Sure you will get frustrated along the way. Which will also upset you and ultimately lead to stress. Approach each situation with accepting the outcome. Good luck Constance.
