Need advice
Had a phone interview with a company located in Chicago hiring for a position where I live in Montana. The phone interview seemed to go well the hiring agent said she would be in town in a couple of weeks and call me for a face to face interview. Now a few days later I received a generic email stating that I am no longer being considered for the position. Should I email the hiring manager back inquiring about this email?

These can sometimes be difficult. However, in your case because you live in MT and I am assuming that you're trying to move to Chicago? The hiring manager might not see your attempts to move as serious in terms of you establishing a Chicago address? Or maybe the company doesn't want to pay relocation expenses on top of offering you the position. There is various reasons you were no longer considered. You can reach other to the hiring manager to request feedback as to why you are no longer being considered, and see what they tell you. But I have a feeling it's going to be related to relocation expenses and/or residential location, maybe even both.
If you are planning to move from Montana to Chicago, it's best to set up a PO Box in Chicago so that you can prove that your attempts to move across state is legitimate. Some employers refuse to take changes on a candidate if they aren't 100% sure this person is going to make that move as things can change.
Good luck!

Yes you should. She said a face to face was gonna happen in a couple of weeks. Yes you should. They don't even know how hard it is to look for new jobs and never get a response. Yes you should
I will call the Chamber of Commerce to check this company out to see if they're license and legit because if they tell you they'll be in town in a couple weeks for a face-to-face interview then you get an email saying your not being considered I would tell him to kick rocks as well Sterling
