Looking for a job
Hello,
I am a business professional with experience in Business operations, Technology and Project Management. I am educated in UK and Canada and have experience spanning four continents and have 12 years work experience. I have 2 masters degrees and a bachelors and nobody can give me a job. I attend interviews and they say oh you have so much experience blah blah..then they say they will get back to me and they don't even have the decency to contact me.(even when I get refered to a position).I was last a VP for an Insurance company ..and when I apply for positions that I am over qualified for they wonder why I am interested in the job..When I apply for positions at my level, they try to find something I don't have..I have very good interview skills, speak well, not saying I am perfect but don't know why I am not getting a position. I have been looking for a year now.If there is someone out there looking for someone with my skills please let me know.I can run the operations of a business or manage projects or do both.
I'm sorry to hear what you're going through Nirosha. Have you tried following up with everyone you apply/interview with? Or even when you're in your first interview for something you might be over qualified for, really let them know why you're interested in the job and how you could make a difference doing it. Sometimes letting them know that you're not looking for higher pay just because you have more experience can be helpful as well.
