wrongful termination
I was fired after 23 years of service because of a messy employee. The adminstrator never got my side of the story until the day he decided to fire me. A new company took over in may this year staff or manager's never received a handbook on their policies or procedures. I went to the owner told him my story nothing happened. I have never been in any trouble the entire time I have worked there. When the new company came in I was there from sun up to sun down by myself putting that kitchen back together and I get let go over a employee acting like a child..so wrong what can I do about this

Well I hope you can get over it.

I know it is hard to stay positive but it's the best thing to do at this time trust me it will all work out. God bless!

See if can voice your complaint to corporate office. They may hear your complain ,I would give it atry

Keep doing good and stay focues and pray.

Go your local labor board and explain your situation .

This could happened in the commonwealth of VA as it is an "at will" hiring/firing state. If you had not viewed and signed new employee guidelines after the merger and had not broken any of the governing rules of the previously issued company guidelines you signed, you may not get your job back, but you may have a case to present to the VA employment commission. Considering the time you have been there, you may be able to gain some reparation by filing a claim of wrongful termination. Call their office and speak with a representative.

I was fired after 19 and a half years guy had his pants below his butt and I told him to pull them up they said it was racism I disagree

You were fired because of a "messy employee"? Did the employee make a mess that you got blamed for? Sorry, I am just trying to understand the situation.

Hello Lakisha, I totally empathize with your situation as I have recently experienced something similar. Although I was only an employee for 4 years, I was terminated; without notice, without justification, without progressive discipline (company policy) and without reason. Since I was terminated on the spot without notice, I was not given payment for the 80 hours of vacation hours earned and not severance. Due to the "write to work" clause in my employment contract, it was explained to me that I could be terminated in the state of Virginia at any time for any reason. I guess that's why unions are formed. I did not dispute it, but I hope that I have learned from it for my next job. Your 23 years should have earned you some sort of "loyalty", but sadly I don't think that; loyalty, integrity or commitment exist any longer in today's society. Sorry for rambling, but the bottom line is I would recommend aggressively finding another position and carefully reading and understanding your new employment contract. If it doesn't meet your needs, you can ask to amend it before you sign it. They are not just a "value" to you, you are a value to them. Sorry this happened, but take it as a lesson well learned and benefit the next time around. Good luck.
