Missed Opportunity

I finally got a reply back from a company I have been waiting for. although the pay is lower it's a 15 min commute. The recruiter emailed me for me to call them to discuss the position later that day. The recruiter is on EST time zone so it was around 6:00 am my time. It was so busy at work that day I didn't read my personal emails until it was too late. I emailed them back and called and left a message in the evening apologizing that I was unable to call them that day. If we could schedule the following day. I tried calling the next morning and left a message. It's been two days did I miss my opportunity? I do not want to come off desperate and keep calling and email. Should I consider that the opportunity was missed and just keep applying?

Hi Melody, although most employers shun applicants miss appointments the large time zone differential leaves plenty of room for error so missing an appointment is understandable mistake and shouldn't be a reason to leave you out of the potential candidate pool. You did the right thing by calling and emailing immediately after you realized the you had missed appointment. Now, just continue to check your messages and give it a few day's before making contact with that employer again. You may have been bumped to the bottom of the call back list. Give them enough time to work in another appointment date/time with you, but in the meantime, don't put all your eggs in one basket and continue the job hunt.
