Furious!!

So I had a job interview at a job that was about 50 min away. They technically hired me on the spot except for the fact that she never said those magic words “you’re hired!” She just introduced me to the entire company as “our new AP Accountant” as she gave me the tour of the building. The first week I hardly worked due to computer issues. Second week I was finally able to begin working on entering invoices into the system. At the start of the third week,I was asked to go home until my supervisor could talk to me!! After 2 weeks of being off of work with no pay but still employed technically, she had someone else from the office text me to let me go...while planning my grandmother’s funeral!! Should I ask for reasons why and explain the fact that I don’t appreciate the lack of respect in how I was let go? What do I do?!?!?

They really should give you an explanation as to why you were let go! It doesn't sound like you were on the job long enough for them to decide to terminate you based on job performance. Get in touch with your supervisor or anyone else that you can to give you a reason for termination. It also makes a difference in applying for a new job, although I probably wouldn't;t even list this one because the employment time was so short. But try to get a reason for termination, by all means!.

I always do an exit interview with employers upon any type of separation. I also ask new employers why did they hire me and interviews that didn’t pan out I try to ask why not.

First you need to see if they got the right to fire you know that means they don't have have to explain if that Clause is not in the contract then they do owe you an explanation then you sue and see what the problem was that's just my opinion..

If you never filed or fill up any paperwork, or signed/dated any paperwork that confirms you are their employee then you won’t have anything to stand on. The whole United States is an at will employment. Only a few states have a few minor rules they follow, but still at will. Thus anyone who is accepting a job, should always ask for a written confirmation of the employer’s job offer, explicitly stating what position, job title, wage or salary offer, and it’s a full time/part-time permanent/temporary. Always ask for that. Otherwise any verbal offer doesn’t make it when situations arise.

The fact that your co-worker texted you is wrong and a RED FLAG! Do you think after it all transpired in this manner, this is where you would want to work? It seems it would be more surprises to come! I truly hope you find something soon.

I know Texas is a "hire at will" state, meaning they can fire you because you sneeze wrong if the boss don't like you, nothing discrimanotory.
