I am a mother of a 23 year old who has mild cognitive delay and a speech impediment. With that being said she wants to be employed in the community but we are having great difficulty due to what I feel is a lack of compassion of her disability. She has been trained as a food service worker, stock associate, and warehouses worker. She has been given high praise for her ability to follow instructions, good attendance, her ability to focus on said tasks and her ability to work well with others.She has interviewed at Target, Shop Rite, Walmart Blue Apron Can anyone assist us with any jobs who can give her a chance in spite of her challenges? Note: Employers do not recognize The Americans with Disabilities Act from my experience. Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
