Hi all.. have you ever worked in a place either full time or part time or as a temp. and have seen theft of property of the business personnel property that belonged to public and to staff. or just had to stand to one side as a huge man shook a soda machine.. mmmmm. I did at an airport.. watched so much .. went home each night and wrote it all down.. day time and location of problem.. even leaned on a police office that was a friend of mine.. can I stay with you I am not being properly securied.. I was afraid for my own well being.. never said anything on sight. why .. kids who do you tell that staff is stealing from luggage from bathrooms from locations of dock storage.. who do you know is not as crooked as the people you are working with.. mmmm and who would make sure you don't make it home once you told it all... my assignment ended .. the dumb lady that knew so little.. 3 days later I got a call from the main agency they want you back for a year kiddo a year.. the job was killing me emotionally and money wise .. ever make 8.00 per hour for 32 hours a week and wonder if you are going to have someplace to live... kids I went into the office.. asked to have the chief of Police that I had worked with called and come to the office asap. tell him the lady clown needs him badly.. zap.. in 10 minute we were in a private office and I looked at 2 people I trusted with my life and being.. opened my book and started to read day time and location what was happening.. the Chief came over pulled in his chair and slowly took the book from me.. walked through it silently in places and read.. held me tight and I went tears.. a lady that had worked with him and staff in protection of children .. he knew what was on those pages was my heart and soul.... kids TSA today is still being watched harder then before because of my book.... it took a week and I was in a great safe and sound state job that paid my rent and gave me food and gas for the car... this gentlemen is part of Code enforcement .. . you really don't want him to spill what he knows here.. why because the truth would make you sick... John you stand tall hold that high ground and keep punching.. and there is a better door to walk through you just wait and see. I promise ......

Sadly dirty politics seems the norm. But kissing ass to keep a job is B'S. Some companies are that way to hard work and dedication means nothing. It's all about who's ass you kiss and that don't work for me. You will find another job. Good work ethics and treating people with respect means alot. Some businesses need to train their cashier's about respect. Good luck

I use to be called a "Dollar a year man". I have never looked the other way for no one. I was a police officer for over 29 years and never took a dime. I would be their worse nightmare.

In government positions, there are 2 types--civil service protected and non-civil service protected. I'm not sure from your posting, which you were. And there is the ubiquitous "other duties as assigned". This is where it really matters what the facts and circumstances were. Was it that the work you asked to do was lawful, but was outside the scope of y our normal duties OR were you asked to ignore or not write up obvious code violations?

I would suggest you review your situation with an attorney who is experienced in government and employment law to see what rights you might have. If the work you were being asked to do instead of your normal duties resulted in public health or safety situations being ignored, then you might want to contact a public interest group like Judicial Watch ( a conservative foundation that fights for accountability and integrity in law, politics and government) Good luck!.

John, Sometimes even though we love our jobs we have to draw the line when we are asked to do things we do not feel good about. I admire you for doing this. there should be more people out there like you! With your experience I hope you can find a similar job that you love. Bless you

I see a lot of man in position like you had ,during service most of them will meet that moment as you did ,the option is clear ,corrupt or do as you must ? Is not different with been a dirty cop or follow the protocol .I choose the same as you did and quit ,when option is to be involved with mass and stay on what you been trained for ?Law or crime ? Questions that will test your temptation level .The important is that if authority find out mistakes base on corruption of an officer ,then entire your currier is under the question ,However again Authority will accept word of the company management as a truthy word ,cause you did not have any evidences to proof ,but the minimum is that your conscience is clear and you will not judge your self for doing wrong or been puppet . Thank you for honoring your self and your position .

Same thing that happened to me...4 years...lots of overtime to keep up...they loved my work but asked me to compromise ethics by "overlooking" what they were doing with customer payments. Terminated last month.
