Currently working a long term temp job. The company I signed on with lost the contract a few months later and a new company won the bid and I moved over with the new company. With the old contracting company, I wasn't making much (I had to take what I could get) so my supervisor and co-workers went to bat for me with the new company to convince them to give me more money. I didn't get more money however, I received so many accolades that the company it self offered me a job working directly with them of course at a higher salary. I was elated and grateful to say the least!! Here's the kicker.......I can't start working with them until they find a replacement for me at my current job! They feel, and I understand, since they just won the contract they don't want to burn any bridges by just taking me away and leaving them without help so they want to hire someone else for my current position and for me to train them during my "two week notice" time frame. I respect the way they are doing business but it's been almost two months since I was offered the job and I'm still waiting - well not literally because I'm still applying for other jobs. As much as I desire to work for the company I have bills to pay and a home I'm trying to save from foreclosure so time is of the essence.
