I have been applying, I have been on many interviews with promises of future employment. I do have a criminal background that is over 9 years old. I was in a abusive relationship and I defended myself and was charged. There is no self defense in the state of Pennsylvania. I have not been in any trouble since. But it has held me back from many opportunities. And it is discouraging at times. I also have a Serv-Safe certificate. But I enjoy taking care of folks, it's my calling. I am patient, devoted, loving and caringand let's not forget reliable and trustworthy. I am a 31 year old female. My availability is open 7 days a week. Any hours, weekends, and holidays. Hi Unika Strange , the vetting process in the healthcare industry as a whole is rigorous and there's a lot of direct care providers out there so the jobs are competitive. The reason I want to go ahead and mention this is to confirm that the challenges your currently facing trying to find a job are probably justified so try not to feel like you're being singled out or alienated.
You may need to get your foot in the door through a temp agency for now until you're able to build up a network that can lead you towards a better job opportunity.
Make sure your resume clearly highlights through actual work experiences, instances, and specific examples how you are a patient, devoted, loving, caring job candidate that is also extremely reliable and trustworthy. I'm sure all these are very valuable employee attributes to hiring managers. But remember, saying you're all those is not enough unless you can point out specific instances and have the proper references to back up your personal traits and work experience.
