Many Thanks!

I just finished a wonderful interview for what could possibly end up being a dream job opportunity in the advertising industry if I can land an offer. The Human Resources agent that contacted me for the initial phone screen and arranged my interview was extremely professional and courteous with me during the whole process leading up to my first interview. I don’t know how much input she has on the final decision but I would like to show my appreciation for everything she’s done to help me get to this far in the hiring process. Which is more professional, a thank you card, email, or letter?

Congratulations on the interview. I personally like sending thank you cards, but an email is just fine too. Good luck!

About the only thing I want to add is never underestimate any person's influence in getting that job offer from the janitor to receptionist to supervisor up to CEO.

First - Congrats on an awesome interview!!! thats really great! As for the ty notes: I kinda like the "belt and suspenders" approach. Send a quick email right away, then another hand written thank you note in the mail (this is a bit old fashioned but it can help you stand out!). Remember that thank you notes should reference something specific from the interview and add a sentence of your confidence about being able to bring them value from you! (its nice that you are excited about the job - but you should also be reinforcing your confidence in adding value to their company from your efforts).
Good luck - really excited for you - be sure to let us know when you get that offer! Fred

Hi Debbie: That's so exciting!! While I personally think a handwritten note is a great touch, an email is just as sufficient for communicating how excited you are for the job opportunity. Make sure to thank your interviewer for their time, and communicate how the interview made you even more confident that you're the best fit for this job role. Let us know what ends up happening!!
