Jeopardy

How do you know when your job’s in jeopardy? I’m asking because I’ve been noticing a big change in my manager's attitude towards me over the last few months. The signs I’m perceiving from management are “Not Good” and worrying concerns over losing my job are raising my stress level to the point where it’s negatively affecting my performance at work. My boss is spends much less time with me discussing ongoing projects and providing feedback. She quickly dismisses any ideas or concerns I bring up at our weekly team meetings but is real quick to highlight any of my mistakes. My workload has is still getting done on time and I haven’t had any conduct or attendance issues. I honestly don’t know what problems she might have with me but after only 1 year at this job, the honeymoon period is clearly over. I don’t want to open a Pandora's Box by confronting her with my concerns but don’t you think this sudden change in attitude is clear signs that I’m in some kind of trouble or at risk of getting fired?

Prepare yourself; sharpen up the resume and start looking. Let your intuition lead the way. I just went through this.....could see the writing on the wall. It is best to move forward so that your confidence does not get crushed.

Not sure, then ask. The smallest thing can get you fired without notice these days. It’s wise to inquire and prepare for the worst.

Could be your boss is dealing with her own job safety or personal concerns. Focus on doing your job and bringing up your work performance to where it should be.

I think your concerns are legitimate but be cautious and get more facts before taking your concerns up to the next level. Has anyone at that company been fired for the same issue during your time there?

If you feel your job is in jeopardy start looking for another job so if something comes up your prepared, but never feel afraid to ask questions about your job or any concerns you have about your job. If there is no one else you can speak with , talk to your whomever it is about your concerns in a private professional manner. Communication is key to anything you do.
