Stranded drivers

When I refused a load for safety reasons(engine warning lights)...that had previously shutdown the rig...The company erred in saying that I resigned...900miles from home and in a snowstorm...is this Right?

I had to ' steal' a truck when a company tried to put me out for refusing to pull an unsafe trailer .. I lived in Texas and they tried to put me out in KC ... I had lots of personal gear and two dogs .. this was a 4 truck company owned by two russians and they wouldnt spend money to fix problems with any equipment .. they had a terminal in Chicago and they wanted to wait until I was in chi town to fix anything .. the trailer had numerous problems .. mostly with the air suspension ...

No it is not right...if your rig is not road worthy and can be a hazard to you or the public you have a right to refuse to put it on the road ....now if they said you quit and abandoned the truck that is a red flag against you and can go on your CSA and pr DMV report as well as their company driving records which in turn could get you terminated from.a new job once discovered or not hired at all if that is discovered before they hire you or prior to an interview or job offer... You should enquire with that employer and address the mistake or lie...one of the worst things a driver can do is to abandoned his load and equipment unless it is life threatening such as weather etc etc.. If they intentionally fired you and abandoned you in the field with out getting you home safely at no cost to you and slandered you with a charge of you abandoning your load and or equipment...then you can sue them and they could be criminally liable as well...

never do their thinking. just load the truck , run it till it breaks down, they'll fix it then, you all ready told them theres a problem. just load it as your told. then your covered.
