Has anyone worked for Kohls?

Hi. I just landed a job interview at Kohls. I applied for part time POS associate. I have been self employed for years. My last employer was the Home Depot. I was let go for medical reason after two years in 2009. Jobs are very hard to find in this area. Has anyone ever worked for Kohls? It seems hard to get hired with them because I was interviewed years ago and didn't get it. Any advice? Thanks all.

I've worked for KOHLS for 2+ years. Almost everyone is part-time. The only full-time positions are for managers, I believe. My complaints are mostly with working retail, not so much specifically about KOHLS. I try to make the best of it. I make an effort to be kind and friendly to my coworkers and to customers. I try to say positive things and encourage my coworkers when opportunities present themselves. I TRY to approach the never-ending work of retail with as much fun as I can muster. Remember not to bitch and bitch, especially if you're not willing to every say anything to management or make a suggestion for how to solve a problem. The times I have asked questions, I've learned that MOST of the time there is a reason for why things are as they are and FOR ME that helps me cope better with the realities. I do honestly try to do a good job and that makes ANY job "better" in most cases. And, I've decided not to just leave it to the boss to notice when someone else does a good job. I've said to coworkers, "Gee, that looks great!" and stuff like that. Everybody likes to get a pat on the back and noticed for doing a good job, in my opinion. Retail is NOT for everyone but great retail workers can easily make someone's day. Exercise compassion.

The kohls in my area has the best customer service of all the brick and morter stores, very good coupon and mailer deals. Our area is depressed and not many jobs that pay over 10 per hour. kohls is the only store in the mall bringing people in.

Cashier at Lowes

I worked part-time for Kohl's for five years. Don't expect great things. I started at minimum wage and was only making less than a dollar more when I was fired for no call no show. I had another full time job and there was a scheduling discrepancy that caused me to not know I was supposed to work those days. I was at my other job. I felt this was done on purpose. In that store they didn't like you to have another job and wanted theirs to be priority. Fortunately I am now a permanent part-time employee of Lowe's making five dollars an hour more. I had started as a seasonal employee. Others may have better experience with them but I have nothing good to say about them. Good luck. Hopefully that store has better management

Lucinda, Research Kohls to find out what is expected from the stores mission statement and what they expect from their employees. Listen to each question clearly, sometimes they are a prop to see what your position on the matter is, your first impression is lasting, go in smiling ready to be interviewed. Good Luck. Othello

I also interviewed with Kohls several times bit never got the job. I have 20 years of retail experience so I don't know why I didn't get the job. So I never applied to them again. I hope you have a better chance.
