Communications & PR Manager:
We are looking for a Communications & Public Relations Manager to plan, manage, administer and implement day-to-day activities and functions for the Communications & Public Relations department, including: communications, public relations, and social media programs and efforts to educate, inform, and communicate Credit Union and “Credit Union” Services Group's brand, products, services, news, information, and corporate image. As the Communications & Public Relations Manager, areas of focus include the following: • Manage all staff and daily functions related to corporate and Member communications and the content development needs of the “Company” Group. • Acts as a key driver of “the Credit Union” public relations program. Role includes driving positive and effective press relations and press pickups, acting as spokesperson for “Credit Union” and its subsidiaries when requested/authorized supporting President and CEO, EVP's, SVP/Marketing & Communications, and Board and others with interviews and media relations, supporting crisis and incident public relations needs, and supporting effective public relations program for the organization. • Identifies and recommends key social media sites “Credit Union” should participate in, gaining buy in to recommendations, establishing “Credit Union” on these sites, managing and ensuring monitoring and effective responses to post, blogs, etc. and gaining approvals/or engaging others as needed in ensuring “Credit Union’s” voice in these conversations and that these channels are effective. • Responsible for developing and engaging high-performing staff that is effective, results-oriented, engaged and passionate about their work and the organization, maintains high morale and service standards and produces quality and timely delivery of projects and initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Experienced leader with proven ability to manage and supervise staff. • Exceptional communications skills, both verbal, written and presentation skills. • Excellent experience, knowledge and proven skills in public relations, strategies, techniques and practices, media relations and media responsiveness. • Exceptional ability to develop content and manage complex communications. • Proven knowledge and skills in the writing and positioning of corporate communications and promotional efforts including organizational and executive letters and speeches, complex corporate communications, video script writing, content development, website and knowledge-based content development, press releases, social media responses and pro-active post and programs, crisis communications, etc.
Education/Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, Journalism, Marketing or closely related fields. • Five plus years of specific job-related experience (including corporate communications and writing, public and media relations, content development, social media, and editing). • Experienced leader with proven ability to manage and supervise staff.
