Nothing like Travel to Appreciate Home
I am blessed to have such a supportive husband. Even though I lost my job, he booked a vacation to Jamaica to celebrate our 1yr anniversary; we got back on Saturday.
There's nothing like visiting another country to make you appreciate what you have. The employees on the resort worked such long hours, all the while having to smile. They may or may not have cars to drive, and homes most likely without air conditioning. It's humbling to see how hard others work, and yet aren't afforded the same niceties.
I start my new job tomorrow, and will keep in mind the work ethic lessons I observed in Jamaica, and try to keep them in mind as I navigate this new path.

Calli Ivester , wow I really love this! Thanks so much for sharing. Where did you go in Jamaica? You know, I often go back to visit India and I am humbled every time at how happy people are with no luxuries. I once had a boy ask me if he could polish my shoes for 13 rupees (about 20 cents), and when I accepted, his face lit up so much. That alone was worth it. Good luck at your first day on the job, I can't wait to hear about it! Sounds like the lessons you learned in Jamaica will be a great attitude to go in with.
