Help was fired
I am currently unemployed because I was fired for my depression. I was diagnosed with two types of depression in January. When I went in for the interview they asked if I had any health problems and I told them about my diagnosis. Last Sunday I had a scucide attempt. Monday morning I called in sick to go to the hospital for help. The doctors told me that I should stay how for a couple of day to rest. Instead I went back to work on Tuesday. I got to my office and I was met at the back door with the tings from my desk in a plastic bag. I was then told that it just wasn't going to work out. I left in tears. I want to sue but unsure if I can. I had doctors note for the three times I called in sick. The only times I ever called in was when I had a high fever and vomiting (two different times due to food poisoning) and the third was the Monday I went to the hospital to receive treatment. If anyone can help that would be great
First thing first, please focus on your treatment and recovery. If you have the option to apply for unemployment from your previous employer please start that process so you can have the funds to properly do that. The battle against suicidal depression is a battle for your life, so please give yourself a fighting chance by following your doctors' advice. The most important thing to remember is that you're not alone and you are supported by those who care about you. I know the road is hard and not everyone will understand or appreciate your struggle, but I believe with help you can get through this dark time.
Sometimes it can be tough to talk to people around you about how you're feeling in an open and honest way for fear of worrying them. If you want to talk to someone confidentially you can also call a crisis line to vent your feelings anytime day or night. It's not a replacement for therapy but it can be a useful tool for fighting off those damaging or suicidal thoughts if they come up when you're not around anyone you feel like you can talk to. https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org
Good luck to you, truly. I hope you can find yourself on a healthier path soon.
