Has anyone dealt with a recruiter Texting you Multiple times?
At first glance of the job posting on indeed, it sounded perfect. Of course, not wanting to miss out, I hit "apply with your indeed resume" before really researching the company.... After I did research, I was not happy. It is ran by two less than professional ladies. Seriously, who uses drunken selfies on their website... which was very vague about what they actually do. Two big red flags! Then I hop onto their social media. Oh dear. It's ran by robots. Horrible. You're in marketing for crying out loud! Robots were answering questions with phrases like "That is great! " "Oh, that sounds yummy"... They also answered their bad reviews the same way. After all that and additional digging that left me less than thrilled, I received a voice mail, email and a text from their recruiter. No biggie, right. Well, 10 days, 12 texts, 5 emails later I'm pretty upset I'm being spam- botted by what seemed to be a great job posting. Is this mass text spam-botting the new thing?

Its been around for several years now. Majority of the job board websites when you fill out your profile will have the option,, do you want to receive notification by Text?... I do not fill that out- mostly coz, I get charged for each text, but text comment fields are limited & I sometimes dont know or understand who it is. When a recruiter etc text me, I will call them back & tell them not to text me in the future. If they continue to text me- I block their # from my phone-- I mean obviously they are not concerned with my wishes, this is not someone I want to work with.

Block and forget

Oh no, that sounds terrible! I would say you should block these texts immediately. You should also report them to the FTC by using this link: https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0243-job-scams. If you get a call from a fake recruiter again, very clearly tell them that you want to be on the Do Not Call list. That means calling you again would be against the law!

Ever since I posted my resume on indeed I have been bombarded with emails every day. One day one of them said the Coca-Cola company is interested in you please call and it gave a number. When I called it was not the Coca-Cola Company at all it was a recruiter who wanted me to fill out an employment survey for them so that they could find me jobs. I continue to be bombarded daily by emails. I understand getting the ones from the job boards but I'm tired of all of the extra ones that are apparently recruiters. Can I block their emails like you can block a phone number for text messages?
