Looking for a new career.
Hi, everyone. I'm an ex-felon living in Michigan who left prison in March and I have been having a lot of trouble finding work. I've been to the state career development office and almost every single job website that exists. I don't have a lot of the job skills that you would think a middle-aged man would have. Most of my experience is in short-term, entry-level health care and janitorial services positions. I have a little experience with office administration also. But my passion is to open my own small business doing extreme cleanup - hoarding and crime scenes. There is a need for it in the area. SO, I'm looking for any advice and guidance anyone may have. Thanks, everyone.

Hi Travis: I think it's so cool you're starting your own business!
I did some research online, and I found this great article about starting a crime-scene cleanup business: http://smallbusiness.chron.com/start-crime-scene-cleanup-business-4510.html It looks like your first step will be to get certified to handle hazardous materials, since extreme cleanup tends to run into some funky stuff.
Does anyone else have advice for Travis?
