Why do companies make you create an account to apply for a job?
I just completed my 3rd online application today that required me to set up a username and password. I don't understand why that's required to submit my application. I'm probably never going to use that information again. Seems like a waste of time!

H Lori, Unfortunately its the nature of the beast. two main reasons for filling out apps on line: 1.It shows the candidate is serious about the job 2. Many companies use their own software to convert the information a data base allowing them to sort by key words etc. to help narrow their search. it is an HR function

U apply for a position , get no feedback , are u suppose to downgrade ursellf to lower position? Even so a lot of them are not prof enough to give u a straight answer. .

that user password is driving me nut im stuck with invalid user name

For some companies, you can log back in and check the status of your application. I had at least one instance where I never got anything in writing from a company and the only way I knew they were definitely not considering me for the position was the status on my application.

Hey Lori, I think part of it is so you can go back to your application is you aren't able to finish it all at once. Also, if you decide to apply for other jobs within the company, your info is already there, so it can save you time.
Once you set up your profile on some search engines you can use this information for "Quick apply" also many sites will allow you to apply through LinkedIn so setting up a good profile there can also prove to be time saving. lastly, pick one high security password that fits all security requirements and use if for every site you sign up on for instance: #1Jobseeker (upper, lower case letters, number, special character all fit high security requirements for passwords)
