54 years old and looking for PT Customer Service related employment.
I'm a 54 year old seasoned retiree looking for customer service related employment. I'm beginning to feel looked over and obsolete because employers seem to desire younger workers. Is age discrimination prevalent in today's market?

Your first mistake is to advertise your age,, no matter how old or young you are employers usually do not hire based on age. And by the way it's not a bad thing to be 54! You being hired should be based on your skills and work qualifications not your age! And yes some employers only want to hire younger staff usually to pay them less., but there are employers out there that base their hiring decisions on work experience and what a person can bring to the team. Don't get discouraged keep looking usually part time jobs are harder to find than ful time ones! Good luck!
