About getting fired for no reason.
I was working as a mechanic lead tech. For like 6 months and supposed I got fired because poor performance at work. Being on time every day work more then everyone, travel and hour everyday and get out of work like 2 hours after my shift finish and 2 months after find out why I got fired. WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT IT?

Jesus, You said the magic word:Certifications. Contact the NJ Career connections Center, not only can they assist you in seeing what type of certifications you can get (i.e. ASE or specific manufacturer certifications like Toyota) but they have a Job club, and other services you can take advantage of. And of course unemployment! Remember look at this as an opportunity to get your certification- a little piece of paper can mean a lot in the job market!

Trust me when company ppl tht are there for so long and they see you HUSTLE and doing what you do the veteran's will notice and they will do the mest up thing TRYING to get you gone it happend to me but i keep my head up and look at me now happy making good money for a better company SHINE. AS YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE and make ur family PROUD

Maybe you can't do anything because some states have the at will law which mean an employer don't have to have a reason to fire you. I just trust that God have a window around the corner opened for you. Don't give up keep moving and believe in yourself. There is a reason for everything.

Was a reason given in writing? Your comment mentions fired because of poor performance. If so, that is the reason you were terminated which makes you ineligible for unemployment.
Being on time is nice but travel time to the job is not the employers concern. why were you getting out of work 2 hours after your shift finish. , I suggest contacting the HR department if there is one where you work. Good luck

What poor performance? Sounds to me like you're an very hard worker. Were you due an annual review? If there were issues with your job performance then they should've listed them in writing and given you a chance to correct them. In some States will give you unemployment if you were terminated for something else besides personal misconduct. Some employers will turn down unemployment claim because it causes their premiums to go up! It's hard to prove wrongful termination in an "at will" employment agreement.

Maybe that job wasn't meant to be or they probably got jealous cause you were a hard worker god will always be on your side just like that job came another will come your way

Nothing, working hard didn't get you where you would assume it would, I am very sorry. .Find another job.. Bigger company.. Don't worry, be honest about how hard you worked, it could of been political or budge problems. Don't take it personal.. File for unemployment and move on..

This is a tactic used to claim it's your fault so you cannot collect unemployment benefits. File for unemployment benefits citing "wrongful termination." Questions they will ask: were you disciplined, written up for anything, given warning, any complaints, etc. Probably no. That's what happened to me and I won with EDD. I should have pursued legal action at that point. Now this same BS is happening to my daughter. Critical thing is to have supporting documentation, and if possible, join with other known victims of this company for a law suit.

Hey Jesus! I was fired from a job for poor job performance also. I applied for Unemployment and received it because my employer couldn't prove their reason for firing me. I would suggest you apply for Unemployment benefits and continue looking for another job elsewhere. Good Luck!
Jesus, I'm sorry you were fired. You need to google your state laws in regards to unemployment. You may be qualified. In the meantime, start your job hunt. There are mechanic shops on every corner.
