Manger Issues
My manager is a MONSTER. He constantly yells at us for not working hard enough but he spends most of his time in the office listening to youtube videos. He yells at us for snacking during our (REALLY LONG) shifts but he snacks all the time! He's a jerk and a hypocrite. I don't mind this job but working for this guy is making me tear my hair out. SHOULD I LEAVE?!

You go into his office if not alone with a couple of your coworkers and you confront him. I guarantee you he will change 99.9 % improvement. I speak from experience. I worked for 2 CFO's different companies that were the same way. You can make a difference..

Donna, Does he verbally assault t you and your co workers? Do you deserve this Monster's abuse? Is there some one hirer up that you could talk to about this person? Can you speak to HR or some type of Rep.? If he is so horrid try to find something that will make you happy. That is what matter's in the end anyway. If you work really long shifts it is law that you get a break for 15 minutes or so for every 8 hours worked to eat, snack, run errands or do what you want. If you see him doing it say something off the cuff if we can't do that then why can you? don't know. You just need to enjoy your job to be the happiest and best at it. Good Luck, Lisa Renwick

I had a manager like that after 1 month I quit they don't pay enough to work for a tyrant

Tune up your resume. sounds like you need to do so.

Whoah, this guy sounds like he needs to take a good look in the mirror. Unfortunately, it sounds like you're in a toxic work situation, and it might be time to look elsewhere. It's not worth working for a hypocrite, it will emotionally drain you.
Hi Donna, Sorry to hear about your boss's behavior. :( And this is a tricky one because if your boss sits in his office to watch videos and snack, that's really HIS boss's issue, and you'd be wise to tread carefully. You can, however, speak to someone (HR? upper management?) about being yelled at. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect at work. So if you like the company (sounds like you do) and the job, I'd recommend sticking to issues that directly relate to you. Plus, if you do a terrific job, you can probably switch to a different department (or store) that has a different manager - and maybe even become HIS boss in the future!
Good luck - let us know what you decide to do & how things end up. Best, Marijoy
