I got hired today. I'm actually extremely nervous. I've worked customer service my entire working career but this second job as a server is definitely new.

Don't be nervous think of it as an extension of the same work you are an expert in, it's still a form of customer service. A smile and kind words go a long way even if you make a mistake. Most people have room in their hearts for human error.
And for those who pretend they don't for whatever reason, just look at them and say to yourself "Forgive Them Father For They Know Not What They Do"; after you apology then continue on with your day as those that never happened! Just like you are expected to do sitting at a desk after an irate customer on the phone has finally hung up.
