Maybe God is trying to tell me something...
I have been out of the workforce for the past 20 yrs. I raised my 3 kids and never went back to work as a legal assistant but I have always had my own business during these 20 years. I had an online store offering baby gifts and hand painted nursery decor, then i was in direct sales with jewelry companies. All these past business have since closed and I now have been with Mary Kay skincare and cosmetics for the past 5 years and am very passionate about it. I love the freedom and flexibility it offers however I do need to find a job that offers health insurance so I have been on the job hunt and it has not been easy. I kept worrying about how i was going to miss out on our family vacations because what if I was hired, well it's been about 9 months and I haven't been called so I really think God is giving me more time to work my direct sales business so i can finally reach my goals with the company. There really isn't anything like working for yourself - I know i would have alot of trouble getting back to a restricted environment and hours so I really think God is trying to tell me something, maybe I should listen.
How do some of you feel about having your businesses?
Hi Cecilia Salomon your business with the handmade baby items sounds awesome! You could also consider selling them on Etsy. They charge very little to list it, I think 20 cents. I have sold my photography pieces on there many years ago. I think it's fantastic to do both work for yourself as well as for a company. There is NO limit to what you can do ; ) especially if you love both. If you feel strongly that you are meant to only work for yourself that is ok too! Once you have been away from working for others the transition could be a bit tough, but you don't know until you try. I would open your mind to other things and also not give up on creating items to sell. Check out Etsy if you haven't already, it's an amazing place! Good luck ; )
