Let Go Before Physically Reporting
I recently was selected for a position that started yesterday. The position was not in the local area and required relocation. During the interview process, j was told that it would be possible to work remotely for a month or so, giving me time to gather funds to relocate. I did the normal background check, drug test, and admin paperwork without any issues. Took 1 week and had to wait around for another week till my start date of 6 May (yesterday).During my time of waiting to start, I sent emails inquiring about how the remote work process works as I have not received any further information. Normally, I would have instructions to be expecting a company laptop, etc. We'll, the Friday prior to start date the only response I received was that I was to start at 9 am on Monday and that there was an inquiry for remote work. Up in further requests for clarification, no response was provided.
So, come Monday morning I was okn the phone at 7 am, 2 hours before I was expected to start, trying to still get some idea of what was actually expected of me. By 10 am, I fijnally learned that I needed to complete 2 weeks of training, whjich was only onsite. The recruiting firm attempted to rent a car for me and make arrangements for a two weeks stay but did it incorrectly, preventing me from obtaining necessary transportation, lodging etc. By the end of Monday, I was told that I needed to report by 9 am next day or they would pass on my employment. We'll, I had no way to get there. Tried looking into taking a bus, train, Craigslist timeshare, and available friends that could drive me to location, which was about three hours away. Anyways, a position in had turned into a situation of unemployment. I also passed on two other solid possibilities for this job. I have one question, is there any legal issues that I can lean on because this has been very unfair and has left me in a bad situation. Employer is located in California; however, I reside in Nevada. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Fred Turner to me this sounds like a scam or something is at least a bit off. Did you by any chance find and were able to verify the physical location of the employer? How about past employee reviews?
