hard decision
I’m thinking about dropping out of high school and going right to work. I’m still in high school but I hate it! I just don’t like school, never have, besides my mom just lost her job and things are getting real stressful in my house with money. I’m thinking about getting a retail job in a store like Target or Walmart. Do I need a high school degree to work at one of these store full-time?

I think you should stay and get your high school diploma. If you want to get a job you need your diploma

You can work an go to school Don't Drop out of School to Work you work while you're in school so that it can build your self confidence an your work ethics when you do graduate..I worked while in Highschool parents always find away to make things work you graduating Highschool will be the best moment in your parents life Don't give up there's so many opportunities in life ahead..

your situation is same like my household..my son too hates school..and wants to do the same..99% of employers will not hire you without a diploma...you are only a child for 18 yrs and you have at least 60+ yrs to be an adult...targer and Walmart will not help your financial situation.. you will get paid minimum wage and then take taxes from that and gas money from that you will not even make $200... Get your diploma and get a good paying job!! A good job will make a good life..you won't be stressed about how you going to pay this and that and food etc..Don't get caught up in a shitty job just to get by!! You want to get ahead in life!! Life is harder than I have ever seen it!! $ 7.25 will get you Maybe 2 or 3 gallons of gas or a loaf of bread and a gallon of milk!! with you being in high school I know for a fact your car insurance is not cheap..Now is the time for you too make decisions for your life, don't think just for the moment!!!

It's 100% worth it to just stick it out and finish high school. ... there are a lot of jobs including factory work that require u to have one. ... I work at a factory making 16 an hr. ... I'd only be able to be at 8.75 an hr without it

Lamont, I can understand not liking going to school...there are people like you who struggle with this everyday...if you do decide leaving school please make certain you know the basic's...read, write, and doing the math...this will help you understand things as you go into the struggling world...your school will become the School of Hard Knocks...there is nothing wrong with this...what I believe will happen to you along the way is that you will start to see how important it is to learn skills that requires you to read, write, and doing the math...your schooling thus begins...wish you well. Take care.

Go for it. Just remember, I like extra pickle with my Whopper.

I dropped out and recently went to take my ged and it is Soooo much harder to get than to learn everything threw school and get your diploma, I suggest get a part time job after school to help out some with the money situation.

You do NOT at Walmart.

Please pray, JESUS our LORD and SAVIOR will give you strength and he will always make a way. Believe and have faith my sister!
I did that, and I regret it, at 53 yrs old I finally got a GED , once you start quitting, it becomes your life, don't quit, hang in there, you have to much time invested to quit now, embrace this time in your life, make the best of it, start involving yourself in school, make it fun again.
