How do I leave?

I have been having serious health problems and have not been aloud to go to work by doctors orders for over two weeks now, and now I still will not be able to work for at least a month, probably longer. I want to leave my job completely but I don’t know if I can give a two weeks notice seeing as I still won’t be able to work those two weeks. How do I properly quit?

Yes exactly your reason is more than valid you are having serious health issues and they will understand show them documents if you have to and say hey I don't want this to be a bad record as in I left without giving them two weeks but I am medically unstable to work or I would do the two weeks

Your reason seems to be a valid one. Why don't you opt for sabbatical leave ! Is your current employer doesn't have that option? I was detected with blood cancer back in 2011 when I was working in India. I was feeling bad from quite a long time but do not know that something that serious inside me. I had a doctor appointment at the morning hour before going to office, but I was fainted at hospital and admitted to emergency and couldn't go to my office for 7.5 month as I had to go through chemotherapy and all. But all my office staff and my boss realized my situation and helped me. I joined the same team after 7/5 month and all were very happy. Feeling bad for you. But hope and pray that everything will be good for you.

I would tread softly. If you have another available job to go to definitely give them your 2 weeks. Hope for the best on thatAnd just work as hard as you can. I'm sorry you're sick I will be praying for you. You know they do offer disability for cases like this. Definitely get some information I'm so security and Disability benefits. And start from there

That what Family and Medical Leave is for. Surprised your doctor hasn't told you. You can take up to 12 weeks without pay in most businesses and still protect your employment.

You could keep the job if you qualify for FMLA. That would give you up to 12 months to get back on your feet. Otherwise just quit for medical reasons. The worst that will happen is you get marked not rehireable.

Turn in the doctors referral with your notice. It's the same as still being an employee just unable to perform the duties required by you. As a management employee , I personally wouldn't second guess it. It not in your control. Best of luck. And healing wishes your way!!!
