Server at Ihop

Does anyone have experience with tip share?

I've come across some jobs in fine dining as a runner. $6/hr + tip share. What's normal tip share? When I worked at IHOP I gave my busser tips and a meal, we received a 50% discount, but he deserved it as he helped me turn my tables. The other servers thougjt I was crazy or just very sweet. Regardless, anyone know how it really works as servers don't like to let go of their money?

MY FIRST TRIP AWAY FROM HOME I WAS VERY LONELY. ESPECIALLY CLOSE TO GOING HOME. MY AUNT MISS ME SO BAD SHE SENT ME A BOX SO I WOULD HAVE MONEY TO COME HOME. THE PERSON I MISSED MOSTLY WAS MOMMA, I REALLY MISSED HER, I REALLY MISSED BEING AROUND HER. I GUESS THATS WHY I LOVE STAYING AT THE HOUSE, MOMMA'S PASSED ON I LOVE RIDING OUT GO TO CHURCH EAT OR PAY A VISIT TO THE DOCTOR. WHEN YOU DONT HAVE A CAR YOU GET USE TO IT? JESUS CHRIST.IS A WONDERFUL HELP! AND I AM GOING BACK TO CHURCH WHEN I GET MYSELF TOGETHER I GET OUT GO SOMEWHERE ONCE A WEEK AND THATS A LOT FOR ME AND I WALK A LITTLE BUT ENOUGH TO KEEP MY WEIGHT UNDER CONTROL PLUS I DO YOGA AND WORKOUT ON THE AB-LOUNGE? SO FAR I'VE LOSTED 32 POUNDS!

The federal minimum wage is 7. 25$ an hour. This the first thing that needs to be addressed.

Lori you are SO sweet!! When I was a waitress we were required to tip them 10% of our earnings. It can get complicated as if some servers are dishonest you may not get your full amount. Would you ever consider waitressing again? It might be more money and less stress.

Usually a percentage of sales and most restaurants take it from servers during cash out as the money they owe house so they have no choice but to give it up.
