Residential Driver at Waste Management

Bad weather; still required to come to work

Today we had a major snow storm to the point where it was dangerous to drive to work and yet my boss still required the whole office to come into work. I was so annoyed but still came in. SUPRISE SUPRISE my boss didn't even come to the office.

Unfortunately, this happens all the time. I have had to travel to and from work in bad weather this winter. I am not given, nor have I ever been offered, the chance to decline the shift nor leave early to make it home safely. I have had to drive thru snow storms and traveled many icy roads. It is what it is. You put on your adult panties and pray that your guardian Angel is watching.

Your safety should always come first but you also need to be responsible with your job. Communication is key in situations like this.

Logistics Management Training Potential

Holding employees to a different standard than yourself is rarely an effective management technique, and your boss will probably learn that the hard way.
