At my previous company, there was a policy dead set against working at home -- and yet, in a very open, cafeteria-style office, writing was usually impossible. What's the difference between having my butt in the seat with headphones on, and physically accessible to my stakeholders, and letting me write at home once in awhile, where I'm available electronically to my stakeholders?
