after 27 years of dedicated service,i was fired by the city of new york. i have had some health problems, most likely caused by my exposer to the air from the 2 months work at ground zero,wtc,i never signed up with a law firm, because i wouldn't take money for something i volunteerd for. i did fill out paper work for the future, but they magically dissapered. i also drove a tractor trailer 38hrs on no sleep to new orleans to bring supplys. i never recieved any shots for my protection,i have also done plenty of other volunteer work even tthough i say i hate humanity i will help anyone.to my job and my so called union president i say thank you for finaly destroying my faith in humanity! so many people could have stopped this and no one did nothing. how can these people go home and teach their childre right from wrong?
Sorry to hear you lost your job after so many years of service. Is there anything you can do now to secure financial or medical support? Have you consulted with an attorney? I remember hearing about the aftereffects of 9/11 and the health issues people were struggling with. People affected had to fight hard to get the help they deserved. The merits for their contributions that fateful day and the day’s following were quickly dismissed once they started showing up with symptoms and all the money to take care of them had been spent. Don’t give up… fight for what you deserve.
