Cover letter

I have been in the medical field for 40+ years advancing myself whenever the possibility arose. Now I am applying for receptionist positions and I feel as if my resume shows I'm over qualified. How do I let the perpective employer know I'm not going to jump ship?

Hi. Joanne. I am not quite sure about this one, but maybe you want to apply for jobs that closely meet your qualifications. sus.org is hiring. or brc.org is hiring as well. maybe other hospitals, assistant living facilities . All the best. Don't give up. When it gets too overwhelming step away and take a break

Ms. Clark, In your cover letter let the employer know that you're seeking permanency. A company that you can retire from. That way they'll know you're dedicated and in for the long haul. Hope that helps:-)

Let them know you are dedicated to getting the job done according to their standards; and not seeking to fill their shoes but seeking a stable income.

Hi Joanne: This is a FANTASTIC question. I would make sure you position yourself as someone looking for a new opportunity. I think it's a legitimate concern that an employer might think you're overqualified, but as long as you emphasize your desire to try something new - and highlight how your past experience will help you as a receptionist - I think you'll do well!
