Victim to Criminal
Let me clear up something, the difference between a VICTIM and CRIMINAL:
VICTIM..a person harmed, injured, or killed as a result of a crime, accident, or other event or action, or a person who is tricked or duped.
CRIMINAL..person who has committed a crime.
Which brings me to this. I am labeled as both. I am a VICTIM to DV and I've taken the liberties to help other men and women overcome the wounds of DV by becoming an Ambassador, however I am also a CRIMINAL, because I chose to protect myself from my assualtant, who in the eyes of law committed a crime towards me, and now I'm less of a woman because I CHOSE to PROTECT myself when the LAW was NOT there to help me.
My point to all of this, so many people can have a down right enjoyable conversation, and give me their kids to keep when not around, I can be trusted with a bank of you left me with it, but I cannot get a job because I am a CRIMINAL. Many of you have no clue as to how hard of a walk it is for someone of my stature to maintain, just basic life. No offense to those that work in retail or food services, but I've vested a lot of time, effort and sacrifice to get where I am today, and I'm still looked at by the unknown as a threat.
So tell me, are you still looking at all criminals the same, or are many of you that hypocritical to the point you allow others and paper to chose who you'll speak to and who you won't?
Think on that and get back with me, hell I fear those that aren't criminals than I do those that are a criminal.
